
Grading Options
Pass Option
The grade of PS (Pass) is assigned to a course selected on the Pass grading option. At least a 2.00 grade equivalent must be completed to
receive a grade of PS. A grade equivalent below 2.00 results in the appropriate regular
grade on your record (usually D or F). Up to 12 units may be applied toward an undergraduate
degree with the Pass grading option.
The Pass Option is not available for courses required for completion of the major, minor or teacher certification programs without special permission from the program's
administrator.
To select the Pass Option for a course:
- Complete a Change of Schedule form.
- Submit the form to Enrollment Services, Room
223, before the end of the session/ term Withdrawal deadline.
After Hours: Completed Change of Schedule forms may be left in the Drop Box, located
outside room 223 in Enrollment Services, and will be processed
the following morning. Please include a daytime phone number and your Towson University ID on the form.
Auditing Option
Students may audit a course with the permission of the instructor. An audited course will be graded AU and will not apply toward the degree.
To Select the Audit option for a course:
- Complete a Change of Schedule form.
- The instructor's
signature is required.
- Students may elect the audit option through the Withdrawal deadline.

- Submit the completed Change of Schedule form with the instructor's signature to
Enrollment Services Center, Room
223.
- To rescind
this option, the same procedure applies, including the instructor's signature. This must be submitted by the Withdrawal deadline.
